Essentia Safari plans and hosts guided safari journeys in East Africa. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you browse our website, create an account or send us a safari booking request, and how we look after that information.

By using this website you agree to the practices described here. If anything is unclear, please write to us and we will explain it in plain language.

We collect only the information we need to answer your enquiry and plan your journey. This includes information you give us directly and a small amount of technical information created automatically when you use the site.

Technical information may include your browser type, device type, approximate region and the pages you visit. We use it to keep the site working correctly and secure.

When you create an account we store your name, email address and an encrypted version of your password. We never see or store your password in readable form.

Your account also records when it was created and when you last signed in, so we can protect it against unauthorised access.

When you submit a safari booking request we store the experience you selected, your preferred travel dates, the number of travellers, your accommodation preference and any notes or special requirements you choose to share with us.

We also store the status of each request (for example submitted, under review, confirmed or declined) so that you can follow its progress in your account.

We use your information to review and respond to your booking requests, to prepare itinerary suggestions, to manage your account, to send you notifications about the status of your requests, and to answer questions you send us.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your account and booking information is stored in a managed, access controlled database. Connections to our website are encrypted in transit.

Access rules restrict each account to its own data, and only authorised Essentia Safari staff can review booking requests in order to respond to them. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we ask you to choose a strong password and keep it private.

We share your details with camps, lodges, guides and local partners only when this is necessary to plan or deliver a journey you have asked us about, and only the details they need.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

We keep account information for as long as your account is open. Booking request records are kept while your request is active and afterwards for a reasonable period so we can answer questions about past enquiries and meet our record keeping obligations.

If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal details except where we are required to retain certain records.

You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose. You can update much of your information yourself in your account settings.

To make a request, write to us using the contact details below. We aim to respond within thirty days.

We rely on service providers for website hosting, database storage, authentication and email delivery. These providers process information strictly on our instructions.

Our website does not currently process online payments, so we do not collect or store card details.

We may update this policy as our website and services develop. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
